WVB: Wildcats Ranked 2nd in 2016 NEAC Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll.

GANSEVOORT, N.Y.  - The SUNY Poly Wildcats have been voted 2nd in the annual North Eastern Athletic Conference's (NEAC) Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll. The Wildcats earned 157 points in the poll, just three points behind the defending NEAC Champion Gallaudet Bison. The Wildcats received five first place votes in the poll which surveyed the 14 head coaches of the NEAC member institutions. The first ranked Bison received eight.

The second seed 2016 Preseason Poll ranking comes after a fantastic 2015 season that saw the Wildcats finish the regular season 25-4 which included an 18 match winning streak. The Wildcats went 11-1 in NEAC competition, won the NEAC Regular Season Title, and the right to host the NEAC Championship Tournament.

The Wildcats will return the core of their 2015 team after losing just one player to graduation. The Wildcats returning players include NEAC First Team All-Conference right side Emma Larson (Miller Place, N.Y.), NEAC Second Team All-Conference outside hitter Ryenn Smith (Lyons, N.Y.), and NEAC Rookie of the Year Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, W.A.) among others.
