UTICA, NY – The Wildcats traveled the short distance to neighboring Utica College Wednesday evening, for a non-conference matchup against the Pioneers.  SUNYIT won the match in three games: 25-19, 25-17, and 25-15.  The Wildcats now hold a 9-9 overall record and are 3-1 in the NEAC.

 

The offense was led by sophomore outside hitter Kaitlyn Harrington (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) with 15 kills, senior outside hitter Jeleah Vedder (Dolgeville, N.Y./Dolgeville) with 18 kills and sophomore setter Taviot Jackowski (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette) who registered 29 assists.

 

Defensively, Vedder led the team with 13 digs while junior libero Jessica Sass (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) and senior outside hitter Julia Woodard (Pulaski, N.Y./Pulaski) were both credited with seven.

 

The Lady Wildcats travel to Keuka College this weekend for a NEAC crossover event.  The match schedule is: Saturday vs. Cazenovia at 1 p.m., Sunday vs. Morrisville at noon and vs. Keuka at 2 p.m.  They return home  Monday October 10th against SUNY Canton.  The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
