COBLESKILL, NY – The women's volleyball squad traveled to SUNY Cobleskill Tuesday evening for their first NEAC matchup of the season.  The Wildcats took home the win in three games, beating the Fighting Tigers 25-12, 25-10, and 25-17.

 

The stat leaders for the Wildcats were sophomore Kaitlyn Harrington (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) with 17 kills and two aces, senior Juleah Vedder (Dolgeville, N.Y./Dolgeville) with 11 kills, an ace and a block, and sophomore Taviot Jackowski (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette) who had four kills and a block.  Jackowski also had 30 assists over the course of the three-game match. Junior Jessica Sass (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) had 13 digs and Vedder was credited with 10.

 

For the Fighting Tigers, freshman Kady Porterfield (Macdoel, C.A./Butte Valley) was credited with four kills and one ace while sophomore Elizabeth Stap (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) had four kills.  The dig leaders were freshman Mary Gallagher (Troy, N.Y./Troy) with nine and freshman Kim Cordova (Oneonta, N.Y./Oneonta) with five.

 

The Wildcats return home this weekend where they will host a NEAC crossover invitational at the Campus Center Gymnasium.  Saturday September 17th they take on Gallaudet at 2 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. match against Penn State Abington.  Sunday the 18th, the Wildcats continue NEAC play with a matchup against Penn State Harrisburg.  The contest is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
