Vedder Claims Third NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week Award this Season

UTICA, NY – For the third time this season, SUNYIT junior Juleah Vedder (Dolgeville, NY/Dolgeville) was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week.  It is the tenth time in her career that Vedder has earned the honor.

Vedder had an incredible week for the Lady Wildcats to guide them to a 4-1 record during that period, including three conference victories.  Vedder was a double-double machine last week, registering a kills-digs double-double in all five matches and finishing with averages of 5.8 kills and 4.9 digs per game.  She had a monster stat line of 27 kills and 23 digs in a 3-1 win over local rival Hamilton College last Tuesday to begin the week, and then led SUNYIT to a 3-1 record during NEAC pool play this weekend with totals of 71 kills and 60 digs.

Vedder currently leads the team with 429 kills and 354 digs on the year, while also registering 34 serve aces and 16 total blocks.

The Wildcats are 6-2 in the NEAC and 17-8 overall.  They will be back in action tonight when they travel to take on Oswego State at 7:00 pm.
