WSOC: Wildcats Beat Cobleskill 1-0 on Senior Day.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly women's soccer team defeated SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday afternoon 1-0. Caroline Entwistle scored the lone goal for the Wildcats in route to their conference win. With the win, the Wildcats move to 5-7-1 on the season and 5-2 in North Atlantic Conference play. The Fighting Tigers move to 2-10-1 on the season and 1-5 in North Atlantic Conference play.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: The SUNY Poly women's soccer team celebrated senior day on Saturday and got off to a great start in the first half with a goal from Caroline Entwistle in the 26th minute. It was Entwistle's third goal of the season. Both teams would exchange chances in the first half, but the Wildcats would take a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, both goaltenders would record saves to keep the scoring where it was, and the Wildcats would hold on for the 1-0 victory. Katie Bowers would record five saves for the shutout for the Wildcats, while Dory Gosselin would record six saves for the Fighting Tigers.
