WSOC: Wildcats Drop Non-Conference Game to Vermont State-Castleton.

CASTLETON, VT- The SUNY Poly women's soccer team was beaten 5-0 by Vermont State-Castleton in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday night. Holly Cudmore would score a pair of goals for the Spartans. With the loss, the Wildcats move to 4-7-1 on the season. The Spartans move to 3-10 on the season.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: Vermont State-Castleton would strike first in the non-conference matchup on Wednesday night on a goal from Holly Cudmore in the 6th minute, assisted by Lauren Fotter. Cudmore would strike again in the 18th minute. Castleton would tack on two more goals before the half was over, taking a 4-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half Castleton would strike again, this time on a goal from Alexis Billings in the 66th minute. Chloe Roark would do her best to minimize the damage for the Wildcats, making eight saves in net.

 

NOTABLE STATISTICS:

  • Holly Cudmore would lead Castleton with two goals and one assist.
  • Chloe Roark recorded eight saves for the Wildcats.
  • Emma Ezzo would have a strong night in net for Castleton, recording four saves for the shutout.

 

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday, October 14th for a home game against SUNY Cobleskill. The Wildcats will be celebrating senior day. The game is scheduled to start at 12:00 PM.
