WSOC: Wildcats Fall to Husson on the Road.

BANGOR, MAINE - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team faced a tough challenge against Husson University, ultimately falling 3-0 at John P. Boucher Field. The Wildcats are now 4-6-1 this season with a 3-2-0 record in NAC play.

 

Husson took control of the game early, scoring three goals in the first half. Lindsey Russell opened the scoring for Husson in the 15th minute with an assist from Mackenzie Lambert. Russell's one-touch finish found the bottom right corner of the net, putting Husson ahead 1-0. Just two minutes later, Sophia Mullins extended the lead for Husson with a direct corner kick that found the back of the net.

 

Husson continued to apply pressure, and in the 22nd minute, Megan Buddemeyer scored off a bouncing ball from Sophia Mullins, which found the net just under the crossbar.

 

Despite the early deficit, SUNY Poly showed resilience. They managed to hold Husson scoreless during the final 67 minutes of the game.

 

Katie Bowers, the goalkeeper for SUNY Poly, made an impressive 12 saves, keeping her team in the game despite the pressure from Husson.

 

Husson held the edge in shots, recording 34 attempts compared to SUNY Poly's five.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will travel to Vermont on Wednesday to take on Vermont State Castleton in a non-conference game. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
