WSOC: Wildcats Suffer Non-Conference Loss at Hartwick.

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team faced a tough challenge against Hartwick College, resulting in a 5-0 loss. Despite their best efforts, the Wildcats were unable to secure a victory in this non-conference matchup, bringing their season record to 1-5-1.

 

The Hartwick Hawks displayed their offensive prowess early in the match, taking a 2-0 lead in the first half. Myah Johnston opened the scoring just 98 seconds into the game, assisted by Madi McGuire. Grace Byrne added the second goal in the 19th minute with an assist from Nelle Slavitsky.

 

In the second half, Hartwick continued to dominate the game, adding three more goals to secure the victory. Jenna Mierek found the back of the net twice, with goals in the 60th and 65th minutes. Madi McGuire added the final goal in the 90th minute, capping off a successful outing for the Hawks.

 

SUNY Poly goalkeeper Chloe Roark made valiant efforts with six saves during her 71 minutes of play, while Katie Bowers made two saves during her time on the field.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will travel to Canton, NY on Wednesday, September 27th for a NAC game against SUNY Canton. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
