MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team was beaten on Saturday afternoon by SUNY Delhi 1-0. The Broncos score the game's lone goal in the 66th minute. With the loss, the Wildcats move to 1-4-1 on the season (1-1 in North Atlantic Conference play). With the win the Broncos move to 4-1-0 (1-0 in North Atlantic Conference play).
HOW IT HAPPENED: In the first half, the Wildcats would outshoot the Broncos 8-3, with Vanessa Sanchez making two saves to keep the score 0-0. The Broncos would register three shots in the first half, with none being registered as saves for the Wildcats Katie Bowers in goal. The game would be tied 0-0 going into halftime.
In the second half, the teams would continue to exchange possessions with nothing to show for it until the Broncos lined up for a corner kick in the 66th minute. Kailey Leach would score on an assist from Kaitlyn Hines to give the Broncos a 1-0 lead. The Wildcats would be unable to capitalize the rest of the game and the Broncos would take home to 1-0 victory.
