AURORA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team took down the Wells College Express on Sunday 6-0 in non-conference play. The Wildcats scored early and often, scoring a season-high six goals on 31 shots. The Wildcats are now 6-3-4 this season.

THE GOALS:

Katelynn Truax scored the Wildcat's first goal in the 18th minute. Meaghan Greenway played a great cross into the box from the right side and found Truax in front of the goal. Truax headed the ball into the net for her first goal of the season.

Hannah Shipley scored the Wildcat's second goal in the 30th minute. Shipley received a pass from Elena Ruznic about 10 yards outside the box in the middle of the field. Shipley did not hesitate, taking a perfectly struck long-range shot that beat the goalkeeper to the top left corner giving the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.

The Wildcat's third goal was nearly a carbon copy of their first. This time, Callie Wright started the play with a high cross from the right side that found Kate Donnelly on the left side in front of the goal. Donnelly had no problem scoring the goal, heading the shot inside of the left post.

The Wildcats scored their fourth goal of the game just 27 seconds into the second half when the Wells College goalkeeper saved a shot, but their defense was unable to clear out the ball. The ball bounced around for a few seconds before finding the foot of Brooke Bush who drilled a shot into an open goal from just inside the box.

A penalty kick gave the Wildcats their fifth goal of the game. The PK was rewarded to the Wildcats after a handball in the box by a Wells defender. Hannah Shipley took the PK and chipped the shot to the top right corner to beat the goalkeeper.

The Wildcats would score one more time in the game when Brooke Bush crossed a ball in from the left side. A Wells defender initially deflected the pass, but it bounced directly to the foot of Abigail Hawes who hit a low bouncing shot past the Wells keeper for her first goal of the season.
