WSOC: Wildcats Kick Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month With a 0-0 Draw in NAC Play.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team and the University of Maine Farmington Beavers played to a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play. The Wildcats had some very solid scoring opportunities, but the Farmington defense held strong to keep the 'Cats off the board. The Wildcats are now 3-2-3 this season with a 2-1-2 record in conference play. The game kicked off the Wildcats Breast Cancer Awareness weekend. The team is selling t-shirts and is accepting donations to benefit Making Strides of Syracuse. Donations can be made by clicking HERE

 

NOTABLE STATS:

  • The Wildcats out-shot the Beavers 9-6 in the game with a 5-2 edge in shots on goal.
  • Michalyn Fagan made two saves in goal for the Wildcats.
  • SUNY Poly's defense held Farmington to just two shots on goal. In 11 games this season, Farmington has averaged seven shots on goal per game.
  • SUNY Poly had a few good opportunities to score in the game but Farmington's Paige Gonya made five saves to shut down the Wildcats.
