WSOC: Bush and Donnelly Score in Wildcats 2-0 Win Over SUNY Cobleskill.

COBLESKILL, N.Y.- The SUNY Poly women's soccer team won 2-0 against SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference game. The Wildcats would score a goal in each half en route to the win. The Wildcats would take a season-high 36 shots, with 11 being on goal. With the win, the Wildcats move to 3-2-2 on the season, and 2-1-1 in North Atlantic Conference play. 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats controlled the pace of the game right from the start, taking 18 shots in the first half, with eight of them being on goal. Brooke Bush would score her second goal of the season in the 2nd minute of the game. The unassisted goal came off a deflection in front of the net to put the Wildcats ahead for good. 

The second half showed more of the same for the Wildcats, who also took 18 shots in the second half, placing three on goal. Kate Donnelly would score her second goal of the season in the 67th minute on an unassisted goal. On top of controlling the ball offensively, Michalyn Fagan would make four saves for the Wildcats to preserve the shutout.

 

NOTABLE STATISTICS: 

  • Seven different Wildcats would record shots on goal.

  • The Wildcats would take 16 corner kicks, compared to the Fighting Tigers' one.
