WSOC: Wildcats Lose to Husson at Home 6-1.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team lost to Husson on Saturday 6-1 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play. The Husson Eagles came out of the gate swinging, scoring the first goal of the game just 51 seconds in. They would score another three unanswered goals to take a 4-0 lead before the Wildcats answered with a goal of their own in the 62nd minute. Husson scored another two goals before the final whistle to improve to 3-0 in conference play. The Widlcats are now 1-1 in the NAC.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Ashley Kiuber scored the Wildcat's lone goal in the 62nd minute. The goal was scored off a deflected pass when the goalie tried to intercept a cross from Leia Abbott. The pass was hit directly to Kiuber who gathered it, made space to her left, and drove a shot in on an open goal. It was her first career goal for the Wildcats.

  • Husson's Natalie Aviolla scored the first three goals for her team, all unassisted.

  • Charlotte Messer, Lindsey Russell, and Jaley Martin each scored a goal for the Eagles.

  • Michalyn Fagan was the losing goalkeeper for the Widlcats. She tied her career-high with 12 saves in 73 minutes played.

  • Hannah Kenney was the winning goalkeeper for Husson.

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will host the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Sunday at 12:00 PM in NAC play. The game will be played at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field and can be watched live on the SUNY Poly Sports Network.
