MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team opened up their 2021 season with a win on Friday night under the lights. The Wildcats earned the 4-1 victory over Clarks Summit thanks in large part to a three-goal performance by Kaitlyn Daley

 

The Wildcats opened up the game with a goal in the 20th minute on an unassisted strike from the left side of the box by Kaitlyn Daley. Daley would strike again in the 51st minute on an assist from Montana Wolf to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead. 

 

The game got interesting late in the second half. The 71st minute of the game saw three goals scored in a 40-second span. The Clarks Summit Defenders got on the board on a chip-shot goal off a deflected ball in the box at 71:12. SUNY Poly had a solid answer in the form of two quick goals, scoring at 71:35 and 71:52 to take the definitive 4-1 lead.  

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • Kaitlyn Daley had six points on three goals in her Wildcat debut.  

  • Kate Donnelly scored a goal for the Widlcats in the 71st minute.

  • Montana Wolf and Sarah George each had an assist in the game. 

  • Ksenya Larsen-Sorterup had the lone goal for the Defenders. 

  • Michalyn Fagan earned the win in goal. She made one save and allowed no goals.
