WSOC: Jordan Case With Four Goals to Lead the Wildcats to Two NEAC Conference Wins.

MARCY, N.Y. – THE SUNY Poly women's soccer team hosted St. Elizabeth and Penn College this past weekend in two NEAC Conference games. The Wildcats came away with wins in both games; 9-0 against St. Elizabeth on Saturday and 1-0 in overtime against Penn College on Sunday.

Saturday's game was all Wildcats right from the start. The team took a barrage of shots leading to two hat tricks by Jordan Case (Whitesboro, N.Y.) and Nakeya Stedman (Sauquoit, N.Y.), a two goal game by Kaitlyn Maggiolino (Whitesboro, N.Y.), and a one goal performance by Meral Evke (New Hartford, N.Y.). Angela Bartlett (West Winfield, N.Y.) earned her fifth shutout of the season.

Sundays game was a thriller for Wildcat fans. For 90 minutes the Wildcats and Penn College were knotted at 0-0. The two defenses played fantastically highlighted by Penn College being able to put just one shot on goal. The Wildcats of SUNY Poly on the other hand were able to put 12 shots on goal, forcing Colleen Bowes of Penn to make save after save; 11 in all. It didn't take long into overtime for the Wildcats to make the game winner. Late in the 91st minute Jordan Case got an opening and made it count; putting the ball into the net for the walk off goal. Meral Evke earned the assist after finding Case on the right side of the box with a nice through ball to secure the big win for Poly.

With the weekend sweep the Wildcats are now 10-4-1 on the year and are 7-3 in the NEAC. The team currently sits in fourth place and are looking good to host the NEAC Quarter Final. The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday, October 23rd when they will host Gallaudet University in a NEAC Conference matchup. The game is scheduled for 12:00 PM at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field.
