Women’s Soccer Pulls the Upset with 2-1 Victory Over Lancaster; Will Advance to NEAC Semifinals

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Wildcats came up with a big upset on Saturday, defeating the Lancaster Bible College Chargers for the first time since the latter joined the NEAC in 2011. The Wildcats scored early to take a 1-0 lead, then extended that lead to 2-0 before holding on in the second half for the 2-1 victory. SUNY Poly advances to face Penn State Berks in the NEAC Semifinals.

SUNY Poly lost to the Chargers in each of the team's three previous meetings, including a 4-2 loss last year in the NEAC Quarterfinals.

Brittany Waterbury and McKenna Hungerford  were responsible for the two SUNY Poly goals. Waterbury's came in the 6th minute, and Hungerford's in the 68th.

Angela Bartlett made 6 saves in goal for the Wildcats.
