Women’s Soccer Downed by Hamilton, 7-0

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women's Soccer Team (2-2-1, 2-0 NEAC) fell to local rival Hamilton College (2-0) on Wednesday night, 7-0.

The Continentals got on the board right away, as Katie Kreider netted an unassisted score less than three minutes into the game.

Ali Clarke then followed that up with a goal at the 9:46 mark – she would go back-to-back 11 minutes later (22:21) to give the Continentals a 3-0 lead.

The first half would see 6 Continental goals in all.

In the second half the Wildcats were able to clamp down on defense somewhat – the Continentals would score in the 60th minute but that would be all.

Angela Bartlett (West Winfield, N.Y. / Mount Markham), who was under attack all night, facing 29 shots from the Continentals, finished the game with 10 saves in goal for the Wildcats.

Wednesday night's game wrapped up a 5-game home stand to start the year for the Wildcats. Next they'll head to Penn St.-Abington for a NEAC matchup this Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
