GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Three SUNYIT Women's Soccer Players were named to the All-NEAC team for the 2013 season on Tuesday.
Leading the way were repeat-winners Abbey Hanehan (Stillwater, N.Y. / Stillwater) and Stephanie Wurz (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Notre Dame). Both players were also named to last year's All-Conference team.
Wurz led the Wildcats this season with 15 goals, while Hanehan led SUNYIT with 6 assists. Wurz had her best year, and finished the season tied for the all-time SUNYIT lead in career goals. Hanehan, for her part, moved into a tie for fourth all-time at SUNYIT in career goals, and was second on the Wildcats this year behind Wurz in points, with 18.
Wurz and Hanehan, both seniors, were named to the All-Conference 2nd Team for their efforts.
Joining the two veterans on the 2nd Team with her first All-Conference selection was defender Erica Maisonet (Walkill, N.Y. / Walkill High School). Maisonet had a fantastic year for the Wildcats on defense, utilizing her excellent speed and physicality along with a strong leg to help the Wildcats to several shutouts.
