Wildcats Explosive on Offense in 5-0 Home Win

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women's Soccer Team (7-9-1, 6-4 NEAC) had no trouble finding the net Thursday night, besting the Albany College of Pharmacy Panthers (10-2-1) by a score of 5 to 0.

The Wildcats netted their first score in the 23rd minute, as Stephanie Wurz (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Notre Dame High School) was there to clean up after an Amanda Zarek (Massapequa, N.Y. / Farmingdale High School) shot ricochet off the crossbar.

Later in the half Wurz would strike again, registering her team-leading 13th goal of the season off a corner kick from Samantha Hubinsky (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls High School).

Opening the second half with a 2-0 lead, the Wildcats would only get better from there. Leading the way was Abbey Hanehan (Stillwater, N.Y. / Stillwater), who assisted on two of the team's second half goals before scoring one herself in the 88th minute. Hanehan's five assists are tops on the SUNYIT team.

The Wildcats will now prepare for their Senior Day matchup this Saturday with Morrisville State. Game time is set for 2:00 pm.
