Werenczak Latest Wildcat to be Named ECAC Player of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass.– After picking up the Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award for the NEAC conference on Monday, SUNYIT women's soccer goalie Margaret Werenczak (Mohawk, N.Y. / Mohawk) added another award to her cache on Tuesday night, as she was named the Corvias ECAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the Upstate New York Region.

Werenczak, who recorded 16 saves in 2 shutout-victories for the Wildcats last week, is the latest of a handful of Wildcats to receive this prestigious award. Last week SUNYIT sophomore phenom Derek Struck (Knox, N.Y. / Berne-Knox-Westerlo) received the ECAC's Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award for the week ending September 29th, while senior women's volleyball player Kaitlyn Harrington (Central Square, N.Y. / Paul V. Moore) took home the hardware for the week ending September 22nd.
