UTICA, N.Y. – After yet another outstanding year in her final season as a Wildcat, SUNYIT senior Nicole DiNitto (Oriskany, N.Y. / Oriskany) was named to the NCAA Division III All-East Team for the second straight season.
DiNitto was near the top of the NEAC conference in goals and points scored, garnering 1st-Team All-NEAC honors and setting nearly every scoring record imaginable at SUNYIT. Said her coach, Tyler Renaud:
"Nicole had another outstanding year for us in 2011 and I am happy she is a repeat selection for the NSCAA All Region Team. The company of players she is grouped in with exhibit her level of play and respect from the other coaches in our region. It was a tough year for the squad all around as we sustained season ending injuries to major contributors before our first match. Nicole's ability to still lead the team in scoring and assists showed her worth, and I thought our team as a whole did a nice job of working hard and never giving up right through the final whistle of the season. We certainly are going to come back stronger in 2012, and will need our returners and newcomers to fill the gap left by Nicole due to her graduation."
