Wildcats Score Late, Beat SUNY-ESF 1-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women's Soccer Team (8-7-1, 6-3-1 NEAC) used a late goal to squeak past SUNY-ESF (7-4) by a score of 1 to 0 on Monday. It is the Wildcats' fifth win in their last seven matches, and with only two games left on the regular season schedule puts SUNYIT within reach of double-digit victories.

On yet another cold and dreary day, neither team managed much in the way of shots until just 4:05 remained in the game. At that point senior Kelley Waskiewicz (Oriskany, N.Y. / Oriskany) put an exclamation point on an already stellar year by recording her first goal of the season off a Nicole DiNitto (Oriskany, N.Y. / Oriskany) assist. Ten saves on the day by keeper Aubrey Campbell (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) helped as well to preserve the victory for SUNYIT.

The Wildcats will return to the field on Wednesday in a game that has been moved to Hartwick. Start time is set for 7:00 pm.
