WLAX: Wildcats Beaten by Buffalo State at Home.

 

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team lost to Buffalo State 22-7 on Wednesday afternoon at home. Buffalo State took a big lead in the first quarter and rode it to victory. The Wildcats are now 1-7 this season.

 

SUNY Poly struggled to keep up with Buffalo State, scoring only two goals in the first quarter and seven overall to Buffalo State's 22. Sophomore midfielder Molly Burdick led all players with six goals, but it wasn't enough to keep the game competitive. Burdick also caused a game-high three turnovers, had five draw controls, and had three ground balls. Kaitlin Kopcza had the Wildcat's only other goal.

 

Emilee Josker led the Bengals with four goals and an assist, while senior attacker Sarah Fineour scored five goals. Vanessa Willick and Emilee Josker contributed four goals each. Sage Running Rabbit tallied three goals and three assists for Buffalo State.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will travel north to take on Maine-Farmington in North Atlantic Conference play. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
