WLAX: Wildcats Beaten on the Road by Russell Sage.

ALBANY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team lost to Russell Sage on Wednesday night 19-6 at the ACP Sports Complex. The Wildcats went down 4-0 early on and 8-1 in the first quarter and were unable to mount a comeback. The Wildcats are now 1-2 this season.

 

Grace Hines led the Gators with eight goals and an assist. She also had a game-high nine groundballs. Samantha Shafer had four goals and an assist, while Alexandra Queeney chipped in with three goals of her own. Marissa Key contributed two goals and an assist, while Ashley Hearn had one goal and one assist.

 

Molly Burdick scored three goals for the Wildcats and had a game-high seven draw controls. Kaitlin Kopcza had three points on two goals and an assist. Abigail Rosaschi had one. Jayden Brown was the losing keeper making nine saves for the Wildcats.

 

Russell Sage took control early on, scoring eight unanswered goals in the first quarter. SUNY Poly managed to find the back of the net once in the first quarter and added three more goals in the second, but the Gators kept up their offensive onslaught to secure the win.
