WLAX: Wildcats Earn First Win of the Season in Dominant Fashion 15-2 Over Wells.

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team dominated Wells College from start to finish on Tuesday to earn their first win of the season, cruising to a 15-2 victory at Wildcat Field. SUNY Poly scored five in the first and five in the second to jump out to a 10-0 lead and rode that lead to the finish. The Wildcats are now 1-1 this season.

The Wildcats were led by a duo of five-goal scorers in Kaitlin Kopcza and Molly Burdick. Abigail Rosaschi added three goals, while Madison Bastien and Emma Draper chipped in one goal each.

Wells struggled to get anything going on the offensive end, as Clara Lima's two goals were the only bright spot for the visitors. Lydia Thomas led the team with nine shots, but was unable to find the back of the net on the six she put on goal.

Defensively, the Wildcats held the Express to just two goals on 15 shots, thanks in large part to the efforts of goalie Jayden Brown, who made nine saves in the winning effort. Wells goalie, on the other hand, struggled to contain SUNY Poly's attack, allowing 15 goals on 24 shots on goal.
