WBB: Wildcats Drop Game Against Kangaroos 69-52.

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team dropped a home game against SUNY Canton 69-52 on Sunday. Due to a schedule change, the game was not a conference game, since the two schools already have their two conference games on the schedule. With the loss, the Wildcats move to 5-14 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Both teams got off to a strong start on Sunday, with the Kangaroos winning the first quarter 20-15 over the Wildcats. Kelsey Meca and Faith Wagner both knocked down three-pointers for the Wildcats to keep the game close heading into the second quarter. The Wildcats struggled offensively in the second quarter, with their only points coming from two Sophia Murray free throws. The scoring drought led the Kangaroos to take a 37-17 lead into halftime.

The Wildcats would outscore the Kangaroos in the second half, but the halftime deficit would be too much for them to overcome as the Kangaroos would hold on for the 69-52 victory. Sierra Pabo had a game-high 22 points for the Kangaroos, while Sophia Murray led the Wildcats with 18 points, including 8 from the free-throw line.
