WBB: Lights Out Performance From Jackson Lifts Wildcats Past Hornets 64-55.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly women's basketball defeated Vermont State Lyndon on Friday night 64-55 behind a 28-point performance from first-year Alysa Jackson. Jackson shot an impressive 5-10 from behind the three-point arc and added 10 rebounds to complete the double-double.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Wildcats offense would come alive early in the game on Friday, scoring 18 points to take an 18-16 lead into the second quarter. Alysa Jackson and Alivia Turk would both finish in double-digit points for the Wildcats, with Sophia Murray, Patricia Vanlue, and Kelsey Meca all adding in strong performances. After winning the second quarter 14-9, the Wildcats would take a 32-25 lead into halftime.

The Hornets would continue to keep the game close in the third quarter by outscoring the Wildcats 16-14 and would cut the Wildcat lead to 46-41 heading into the fourth quarter. A strong showing in the fourth quarter from the Wildcats would prove to be the difference as they would hold on for the 64-55 victory.

 

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action on tomorrow against Lesley for a North Atlantic Conference matchup.
