WBB: Wildcats Drop First Game In Nazareth Tournament.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly women's basketball lost to Brooklyn College on Friday evening 59-40 in the first game of the Nazareth Tournament. The Bulldogs were led by Alina Estrella, who finished with a game-high 15 points. Alysa Jackson continued her strong first-year campaign, scoring 14 points and grabbing 6 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bulldogs three-pointers started the game on Friday night, immediately running out to a 6-0 lead. Patricia Vanlue and Alysa Jackson would get the Wildcats on the board, however, and cut the Bulldogs lead to 8-5. After a Wildcats run to take a 12-11 lead, the Bulldogs would end the quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 17-12 lead into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, the Bulldogs would create separation, getting hot from the field, and would win the quarter 14-5, and take a 31-17 lead into halftime. Alysa Jackson would score all 5 second-quarter points for the Wildcats.

In the second half, the Wildcats would bounce back and be more efficient from the field, but wouldn't be able to erase the halftime deficit. The Bulldogs would hang on for the 59-40 lead.

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action tomorrow as they face Baruch College in the final game of the Nazareth Tournament.
