WBB: Wildcats Lose Midweek Tilt With Amherst.

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team lost to Amherst on Tuesday night 86-54. The Wildcats fell behind early and could not gather the steam to fight their way back into the game. Poly is now 8-11 this season. Amherst improved to 14-5 on the year.

 

NOTABLE STATISTICS:

  • Lyrik Jackson and Molly Burduck had 15 points each for the Wildcats. Jackson had a game-high four steals, three rebounds, an assist, and a block. Burdick had five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
  • SUNY Poly's Kierra Connor was a rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.
  • Lauren Denny had eight points, four rebounds, and an assist for Poly.
  • Amherst was led by Reeya Patel who had a game-high 20 points, eight rebounds, and a pair of assists.
  • Kori Barach had 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals for the Mammoths.
  • AnLing Vera had a game-high 16 assists for Amherst. She also had six points, five rebounds, and a steal.
  • Anna Tranum and Maya Cwalina rounded out the double-digit scorers for Amherst with 15 and 12 points respectively.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will head to Vermont on Friday to take on the NVU-Johnoson Badgers in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play. The game is scheduled for a 5:30 PM tip-off. The last time the two teams met, the Wildcats won 81-62.
