WBB: Wildcats Beaten In NAC Play Against Husson.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly women's basketball team was defeated by Husson University 77-47 on Friday night. With the loss, the Wildcats move to 5-9 on the season and 3-2 in North Atlantic Conference play. The Eagles improve to 10-4 and 4-0 in North Atlantic Conference play. Molly Burdick led the way for the Wildcats, recording 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Husson would jump out to an early lead in Friday night's game on a three-point jump shot from Vanessa Duarte. The Wildcats, however, would use balanced first-half scoring from Lyrik Jackson, Molly Burdick, Patricia Vanlue, Marica Laguerre, and Lauren Denny to make it a 23-16 Husson lead going into the second quarter.

The Wildcats would go on a few runs in the second quarter to cut the Husson lead to one point with 3:12 remaining in the half, highlighted by great offensive and defensive rebounding by Patricia Vanlue, who finished with a career-high 17 rebounds. The Eagles would go on a run to end the half, extending their lead to 41-33.

The Eagles would heat up in the second half and would finish the game with four players in double figures for the conference win. Lyrik Jackson and Molly Burdick both scored in double figures for the Wildcats.

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action tomorrow against Maine-Presque Isle to complete the home conference weekend. The game is scheduled to tip off at 1:00 PM.
