WBB: Wildcats Beaten in NAC Play by MMA.

CASTINE, Maine - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team was beaten on Friday night by the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners 79-60. The Wildcats led after the first quarter of play but faltered offensively in the second to end the half trailing by six. The Mariners dominated to start the second half and grew their lead to 25 points with three minutes to play. The Wildcats are now 4-8 this season with a 2-1 record in NAC play. MMA Improved to 6-5 with a 2-0 NAC record.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Molly Burdick had a team-high 18 points for the Wildcats. She also had five rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
  • Maria Barela had a game-high 23 points for the Mariners. She also had four assists, five rebounds, and a pair of steals.
  • Lauren Denny had 17 points, two steals, two rebounds, and an assist for the Wildcats.
  • Lyrik Jackson scored 15 points for the Wildcats. She also had a team-high three assists, four rebounds, and two steals.
  • Evelyn Dagan scored 16 points for Maine Maritime in 18 minutes played off the bench. She knocked down four three-pointers.
  • Erianna Moore filled up the stat sheet for the Mariners. She scored 11 points, had five rebounds, four assists, and a game-high four steals.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will travel to Thomas, Maine to take on the Thomas College Terriers in North Atlantic Conference play. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM tip-off.
