WBB: Big Game From Johnson and Burdick Not Enough to Beat Husson on the Road.

BANGOR, MAINE - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team lost their first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game of the season on Friday 80-60 to Husson University. A rocky second quarter put the Wildcats behind the 8-ball in the second half and despite a great effort in the third, they were unable to overcome the deficit. The Wildcats are now 9-5 this season.

The Wildcats went into the locker room down by 13 points at the half. The team mounted a comeback in the third, cutting the lead to just three points with six minutes to go in the quarter, but missed shots, turnovers, and good shooting by Husson saw them grow the lead back to 11 at the close of the third. The largest lead of the game was 22 for the Eagles with under a minute to play.

NOTABLE STATISTICS:

  • Lyrik Jackson led the Wildcats with 19 points. She also recorded six rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
