WBB: Wildcats Beat Johnson in NAC Play to Improve to 2-0 in Conference Play.

JOHNSON, Vt. - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team took down the NVU-Johnson Badgers on the road on Saturday 65-47. The Wildcats got out to an 11 point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. SUNY Poly is now 5-2 this season. 

 

DOMINANT PERFORMANCE:

Molly Burdick had an outstanding game for Poly. The junior inched closer to the 1,000 career points mark with an impressive 28 point 20 rebound double-double. It is her sixth consecutive double-double this season. The 28 points are a new career-high for Burdick. The 20 rebounds match her career-high. Burdick's career point total is now 972.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • Molly Burdick had a 28 point 20 rebound double-double. She also had an assist and two steals. 

  • Sophie Wittenbeck scored a career-high 16 points and hit a career-high four 3-pointers. She also had five rebounds. 

  • Paris Atuahene had a team-high 21 points for the Badgers. She also had three rebounds, two assists and three steals. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will host Cazenovia at the Campus Center Gym on Saturday, December 11th. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM. The Wildcats will be collecting canned and dry goods to donate to the Utica Pantry during the game. The SUNY Poly Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) will be collecting toy donations for Toys for Tots during the game.
