Former Wildcat Annmarie Spaulding to be Inducted into Corning-Painted Post Hall of Fame

UTICA, NY – SUNYIT alum Annmarie Spaulding ('09) has received the highest honor in sports, as she will be inducted to the Corning-Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2011.

Spaulding, a former member of the Lady Wildcat basketball and soccer teams, will be inducted for basketball for both Corning East High School and Corning Community College.  She will be one of 18 members of this year's class that will be enshrined at the Corning Museum of Glass on March 19, 2011.

"This is an unbelievable honor for me," said Spaulding.  "I have so many people to thank: my family, friends, teammates and all of my coaches."

Spaulding left her mark in both of the sports she competed in at SUNYIT.  In two seasons as a member of the women's basketball team, Spaulding averaged 12.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game in 40 career contests and finished sixth all-time in career free throws made, while being ninth all-time in both career field goals made and career 3-pointers made.  The 5-foot-7 guard also scored the program's eighth-most points in a season with 328 in 24 contests during the 2007-08 season, averaging a team-best 13.7 points per game and earning a SUNYAC Player of the Week award that same year.

Spaulding was also a member of the 2007 women's soccer team, starting in all 18 Wildcat contests that year and scoring seven points on two goals and three assists.
