MXC: SUNY Poly Places 5th at Wildcat Short Course Invitational. 

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's cross-country team hosted the SUNY Poly Short Course Invitational on September 2, 2023. The event featured strong competition, with runners from various schools vying for victory in the challenging 6K race.

 

Omar Mohamed of Mohawk Valley CC secured the race win, completing the course with an impressive time of 19:20.6.

 

In the team standings, the Utica team dominated the competition, finishing in first place with a total of 33 points. Their top five runners secured positions within the top 11. Oneonta followed closely in second place with 39 points, while Hudson Valley CC, Mohawk Valley CC, and SUNY Poly claimed the next three positions.

 

SUNY Poly had some solid performances of their own. The team finished in 5th place overall with 128 points.

 

Spencer Daley, the top finisher for the Wildcats, ran a fantastic race and secured the 18th spot overall with a time of 22:29. Following closely behind, Noah Breedy crossed the finish line in 23:17, earning the 24th position. Caleb McDermott, with a time of 23:58, secured the 26th spot.

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will travel to Cobleskill on Saturday, September 9th to take part in the Steven A. Warde Invitational. The race is scheduled for a 10:30 AM start.
