MXC: Wildcats Celebrate Senior Day With a 2nd Place Finish at 9th Annual Wildcat Classic.

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's Cross-Country team hosted the 9th annual Wildcat Classic on Saturday morning at the SUNY Poly cross-country course. The Wildcats ran a solid race, finishing in second place with 43 points. Utica University won the race with a team score of 22. Prior to the race, the Wildcats celebrated the careers of five Wildcat seniors at the last home race of this season. Eh Kaw Thaw, William Dambra, De'von McClendon, Garrett Jones, and Joseph Killian were the seniors recognized for the Wildcats.

 

Utica's Michael Roberts won the 8K race in a field of 38 runners. Roberts finished with a time of 28:04.0.

 

The Wildcats placed seven runners in the top 15. Spencer Daley, Aidan Brown, and Joseph Killian placed sixth, seventh, and eighth respectively. De'von McClendon and  Caleb McDermott rounded out the scoring runners with 10th and 11th place finishes.

The Wildcats will hit the road to run at the Cazenovia Invitational on Saturday, October 1st. The race is scheduled for an 11:00 AM start.
