MXC: Wildcats Place 6th at NAC Championship Meet. Jones Earns All-Conference Honors.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's cross country team placed sixth at the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship race on Saturday. The Wildcats scored 128 points, led by 12th and 15th place finishes by Garrett Jones and Jake Baisley. The SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers ran away with the NAC Championship Title, scoring 31 points to beat the second-place team by 23 points. 

 

Garrett Jones was the Wildcat's top finisher. He ran the 8K course in 29:14.9 to finish 12th. His finish earned him a spot on the NAC All-Conference second team. Jake Baisley also ran a solid race. He finished 16th with a time of 29:14.9. The race was won by Cobleskill's Eamonn Sullivan who was not only the Runner of the Year, nut also the Rookie of the Year. Cobleskill won the race with 31 points. Their top five finishers placed 1st, 3rd, 5th, 9th, and 13th.

The Wildcats will compete in the NCAA Niagra Regional Race on November 13th at the Warplane Museum in Geneseo, N.Y. The regional will be hosted by SUNY Geneseo.
