WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced the Men's Soccer Weekly Awards for the week of September 5th - September 11th on Monday. SUNY Poly's Edgar Gomez was named the Player of the Week for the first time this season. The excerpt from the NAC's weekly award release can be read below.

Edgar Gomez was a driving force behind the Wildcats' two wins over tough opponents this week. In SUNY Poly's 3-1 win over defending Empire 8 Conference champion Nazareth College on Wednesday, Gomez scored in the 58th minute to give the Wildcats an insurance goal to help seal the victory. In Saturday's 4-3 win over Utica, Gomez scored twice in the second half to help Poly extend its second-half lead to 3-0 with 16 minutes remaining – goals that proved to be crucial as the Wildcats hung on for the 4-3 victory over the in-state Empire 8 foe. Gomez is currently the Wildcats' leading scorer with six points.
