MSOC: Banker and Coluccio Earn NAC Weekly Awards.

WATERVILLE, Maine - SUNY Poly's Wakeley Banker and Chase Coluccio earned North Atlantic Conference (NAC) weekly awards this week for men's soccer. Banker was named the Co-Player of the Week and Coluccio was named the Defensive Player of the Week. The two awards extend the weekly awards streak to three. The Wildcats NAC Weekly Awards count is now at five.

Below is an excerpt from the NAC Weekly Awards Announcement.

Co-Player of the Week

Wakeley Banker, SUNY Poly
Junior / Warwick, New York

Wakeley Banker had an outstanding week for the Wildcats. He opened the week by contributing a goal in a 3-0 win over Alfred State. Banker then had a career-best six-point game in Saturday's NAC matchup against rival SUNY Cobleskill. Banker recorded his first career hat trick, scoring three times in SUNY Poly's 6-0 win. All of Banker's goals were headed into the cage off of corner kicks. Banker, a defensive player, is now leading the Wildcats this season in both goals and points with seven goals and 14 points.

Defensive Player of the Week

Chase Coluccio, SUNY Poly
Junior / Rome, New York

Chase Coluccio and the defensive unit were lights out this week for the Wildcats. The junior recorded two shutouts - against Alfred State on Wednesday and against NAC foe Cobleskill on Saturday. Coluccio only had to make three saves in the two games thanks to his defensive line and his own positioning, smart play, and aggressive attack of the ball in the box. Coluccio is now 4-0 this season with four shutouts.
