MSOC: Wildcats Score 14 Goals in a Pair of NEAC Wins.

MARCY, N.Y. – THE SUNY Poly men's soccer team hosted St. Elizabeth and Penn College last weekend in two NEAC Conference games. The Wildcats came away with wins in both games; 9-0 against St. Elizabeth on Saturday and 5-0 against Penn College on Sunday.

In the first game of the weekend the Wildcats went on an offensive tear. The team scored 9 goals in the game and had two players with multiple goals; Samuel Addo (Troy, N.Y.) and Wyatt Snell (Parishville, N.Y.). As a team the Wildcats took 37 shots registering 19 on goal and netting nine. The Eagles of St. Elizabeth did not take a single shot on goal.

In the second game of the weekend the Wildcats continued their offensive tear with a 5-0 win over Penn College. The game opened up on a high note when Nick McBride (Rotterdam, N.Y.) netted the first goal of the game on a free kick from just outside the 18 with just 52 ticks off the game clock. McBride would strike again just 20 minutes later to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.  In the second half the Wildcats continued to score. From the 72nd minute on the Wildcats added three more goals by Emil Winzell (Gothenburg, Sweeden), Tanner Wiley (Clayton, N.Y.), and Daniel Riley (London, England) to earn the 5-0 win.

With the two wins the Wildcats are now 5-10 on the year and are 5-5 in the NEAC. The team will be back in action on Saturday when they will host Gallaudet University at 2:00 PM.
