MSO: Wildcats Split Weekend NEAC Games With Bryn Athyn and Penn St. Abington.

ABINGTON, Pa. – The SUNY Poly men's soccer team traveled to Pennsylvania this weekend to take on Bryn Athyn and Penn State Abington in NEAC Conference Games. The Wildcats lost Saturdays game against Bryn Athyn in a double OT heart breaker 3-2 and beat Abington on Sunday 2-0.

Saturday's game was a great one to watch. Both teams traded blows back and forth leading to a 2-2 tie in regulation. In the first overtime neither team could net the game winning goal. The game ender came in the second overtime when Bryn Athyn's Matheus Souza scored in the 105th minute to secure the win for the Lions. The Wildcats goals were scored by Wyatt Snell (Parishville, N.Y.) in the 38th minute and Nick McBride (Rotterdam, N.Y.) in the 82nd minute. Both goals were unassisted.

On Sunday the Wildcats shutout the Nittany Lions of Penn State Abington. Poly goalkeeper Mingoro Fanny (Bronx, N.Y.) had a fantastic game. He made nine saves in route to his second shutout of the season. Both of the Wildcats goals were scored by Nick McBride. His first goal came in the 37th minute when he intercepted a back pass and put a shot into the back of the net. His second goal came off an assist by Daniel Riley (London, England) in the 78th minute. The two goals put McBride's season total at six.

The Wildcats are now 3-8 on the season and are 3-5 in the NEAC. The Wildcats next game is scheduled for Wednesday October 5th at SUNY Canton. The Game is scheduled for a 6:00 PM start.
