MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team won in dramatic fashion over Cazenovia on Saturday. Poly went up 2-0 in the first half but let Cazenovia back in the game with two goals in the second half to knot the score at two. It would take some senior heroics to secure the win for the Wildcats. Nick McBride (Rotterdam, N.Y.) played the role by netting the game winning goal with just 58 ticks left on the game clock.

McBride's goal was a beautiful one. The senior weaved his way through three defenders traveling nearly 40 contested yards before rocketing the shot in for the win. The goal was McBride's second of the season.

The Wildcats struck early to take the lead in the game. Evan Chaires (Sherrill, N.Y.) scored the first goal of his Wildcat career in the 8th minute when Wyatt Snell (Parishville, N.Y.) fed him a beautiful cross through the box that he drove past the goalie. Jeremiah Besse (Bethlehem, N.Y.) would add to the lead early in the second half on a PK after a Cazenovia defender was charged with a handball in the box. The goal was Besse's first of the season.

The win is the first of the season for the Wildcats who are now 1-4-0 on the year and 1-1 in the NEAC. The Wildcats will be back at it on Saturday, September 17th when they will host Keuka College in a NEAC conference matchup. The game will start at 2:00 PM.
