MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team hosted Penn St. Berks on Friday night in a NEAC Conference matchup. The Wildcat defense held the Nittany Lions scoreless for the night while the offense attacked the goal to score three. The Wildcats took a whopping 24 shots (11 on goal) while Berks only took three. The Nittany Lions had to play two men down for 65 minutes of the game after a fight nearly broke out between the two teams early in the first half.

SUNY Poly's Jeremiah Besse (Bethlehem, N.Y. / Bethlehem Central HS) drew first blood for the Wildcats when he netted a penalty kick in the 18th minute after Francesco Tine (Chatham, N.Y. / Chatham HS) got fouled hard in the box.

Tine would add a goal of his own late in the first half on a 2-on-1 when Vincent Seruhungu (Syracuse, N.Y. / Fowler HS) drew the lone defender down the middle and dished a dime right to the foot of the streaking Tine who popped a shot right over the diving goal keeper. The goal was Tine's second of the year.

Emir Selimovic (Utica, N.Y. / Thomas R. Proctor HS) would add to the goal total late in the game when he was fed a pass from Nick McBride (Rotterdam, N.Y. / Mohonasen HS) out of the corner. Emir capitalized on the opportunity, netting his fourth goal of the season.

The win brings the Wildcats record to 10-5-2 on the season (7-3-1 NEAC). The win brings the Wildcats one step closer to a  NEAC playoff spot. The team will be back in action tomorrow for their senior game against Lancaster. The team's seniors will be honored in a short pregame ceremony. The game is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM.
