MSOC: Wildcats Complete Weekend Sweep; Beating Medgar Evers 6-1.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Day two of the Wildcats road trip, much like the first, ended with a victory. The team traveled to Brooklyn to square off with the Medgar Evers Cougars. The game ended 6-1 in favor of the Wildcats, however this game was truly a game of two halves.

In the first half, neither team was able to score. This was not due to a lack of trying however as the Wildcats took an impressive 11 shots in the first half. While none of the shots found the back of the net, the pressure of the volume shooting from the attack proved to be overwhelming.

In the second half the Cats scored six times on 11 shots. Nick McBride (Rotterdam, N.Y. / Mohonasen HS) scored two goals; one unassisted and one served up by sophomore Zach Joseph (Oneonta, N.Y. / Oneonta HS). Junior midfielder Sam Speziale (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Balston Spa HS) also scored two goals in the game; his first two of the season. The other two goals by the Wildcats came from Emir Selmovic (Utica, N.Y. / Thomas R. Proctor HS) and Blake Elliot (Milford, N.Y. / Milford Central HS).

The win improves SUNY Poly's record to 2-0-1. The Wildcats are back in action Wednesday, September 9th when they will take on cross town rival Utica College. The game is scheduled for a 5:00 start and will take place at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium on the Utica College Campus.
