MSOC: McBride Scores Two In Wildcats 3-2 Win over John Jay.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Saturday the Wildcat men's soccer team traveled to the Big Apple to square off with John Jay College at Randall's Island. The Wildcats got off to a quick start in the first half jumping ahead 1-0. John Jay answered back just three minutes later to end the first half tied. The Cats' took the lead early in the second, then increased their lead to 3-1 which would be enough to secure the win. The final score of the game was 3-2.

Two of the Wildcats three goals were scored by junior Nick McBride (Rotterdam, N.Y. / Mohonasen HS). His first of the game, a penalty kick, was his second of the year. His second was netted off of a rebound. The two goals bring his season total to three; a team high. The Wildcats third goal of the game was scored by freshman Marco Batista (Blavelt, N.Y. / Tappen Zee HS) again off of a rebound.

With the win the Wildcats record improves to 1-0-. The team will be back in action on Sunday, September 6th when they travel to Brooklyn to take on Medgar Evers College in the second game of their two game road trip. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM.
