Men’s Soccer Team Named NCAA Statistical Champion for Save Percentage

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men's Soccer Team was recently notified by the NCAA that they would be receiving an award as the 2013 Division III Statistical Champion in the category of Save Percentage.

SUNYIT's team save percentage of .899 was just ahead of the University of Texas at Dallas, which finished second nationally at .885.

Along with a fantastic (and young) back line, First-Team All-American goalie Malick Faye (Bronx, N.Y. / MLK) played a big role in securing the award for SUNYIT. Individually, Faye's .908 save percentage put him 2nd nationally – just behind national leader Aidan Hanratty out of Fitchburg State.

The Wildcats will receive a plaque from the NCAA in the coming months to be displayed in the Athletics Department trophy case.
