GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Diego Montaleza (New York, N.Y. / MLK)  and Malick Faye (Bronx, N.Y. / MLK) have been chosen as the NEAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and NEAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, respectively – each winning for the third time this year. Below is the text for each player from the NEAC release:

Diego Montaleza (New York, N.Y.) has been chosen as the NEAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after another clutch performance for the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats.  The senior midfielder scored his second straight game-winning goal after sending a penalty kick into the back of the net late in the second half against Elmira Wednesday that gave the Wildcats a 1-0 win to close the regular season.  The game winner was Montaleza's sixth of the year, which is the most in the NEAC this season, as are his 12 goals, six assists and 30 points.  The Wildcats wrapped up the regular season with a program-best record of 15-1-1 overall and will now host the NEAC Championship Tournament this weekend as the top seed after winning the regular season title with a 7-1 mark in conference play.

Malick Faye (Bronx, N.Y.) has earned a second straight NEAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award after another fantastic effort in goal for the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats.  The senior goalkeeper continued his hot streak with his fourth straight shutout after blanking Elmira last Wednesday while making four saves in a 1-0 win during the Wildcats' lone contest last week.  Faye, who entered the week ranked second in the nation in save percentage (.935) and third in goals-against average (0.29), also leads the conference in goals against (5), wins (15), shutouts (10) and minutes (1,527), while being fifth in saves (72).  His efforts have helped the Wildcats to a program-best 15-1-1 overall record this season.  SUNYIT will now host the NEAC Championship Tournament this weekend as the top seed after winning the regular season title with a 7-1 mark in conference play.
