SUNYIT Men’s Soccer Ranked 7th in NSCAA Regional Rankings

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men's Soccer Team (10-1-1, 6-1 NEAC) moved up from 10th place in the Division III East Region Rankings last week, to 7th place in yesterday's October 15th poll.

The Wildcats are behind the likes of Houghton, St. Lawrence, the University of Rochester, and SUNY Brockport, while staying ahead of RPI (8th) and Union (9th).

Despite winning back-to-back NEAC Conference Championships in 2010 and 2011, the team's current regional ranking is believed to be the highest in program history. No doubt, the regional recognition is due in part to the team picking up a number of impressive non-conference wins, including a 1-0 victory over Utica on September 4th, a historic 1-0 win over Hamilton on September 17th, and last Tuesday's 2-0 home win over SUNY New Paltz.

The Wildcats had been hovering around the #10 spot in the regional rankings for the last few weeks before moving up to 7th on Monday. The team has five games remaining on their 2013 schedule, with a home game against SUNY Canton scheduled for this Friday at 6:00 pm.
