Wildcats Shut Out By Morrisville in Conference Opener, 3-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Wildcats (3-3) fell to the Mustangs of Morrisville State (3-2-1) in their NEAC Conference opener on Saturday by a score of 3-0

Despite 4 saves by Wildcat goal keeper Malik Faye (Bronx, N.Y. / MLK) in the first half, The Wildcats went into halftime down 1-0 after Karim Ouedraogo was able to beat Faye to a 50/50 ball at 41:10.

Morrisville came out firing on all cylinders to start the second half by netting two goals in the first 12 minutes of the second half, both by Mustang forward Sanley Pierre-Louis. The Wildcats were unable to answer, despite their aggressive 9 shot attempts in the second half. 

Senior Wildcat Mario Gomez (Rome, N.Y. / Rome Free Academy) put 2 of his 3 shots on goal for the day to lead the Wildcat offence.

The SUNYIT Men will resume their 2012 campaign on Saturday September 22nd in a conference matchup against the Penn. State Abington Nittany Lions in Abington P.A. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
