    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Soccer Team has secured the 4th seed in the upcoming NEAC Championship Tournament with their 3-1 defeat of Keuka on Saturday, which means the Wildcats will host the first round game against Penn St.-Harrisburg. Harrisburg and SUNYIT both finished the season with 6-3-1 records in conference, but the Wildcats’ 2-0 victory over the Nittany Lions earlier in the season gave them the tiebreaker.

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Soccer Team (9-7-2, 6-3-1 NEAC) fell to Penn St.-Harrisburg (10-7-2, 6-3-1 NEAC) Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the NEAC Championship Tournament. With the score tied at 0-0 after two overtimes, the Nittany Lions upended the Wildcats at their home field in a penalty-kick shootout, 4-2.
  • Matt Wilday Selected Men’s Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week

    GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - Matthew Wilday (Broadalbin, N.Y.) has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his clutch play for the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats. The sophomore defender came up huge during the team’s match against Keuka College Saturday that had playoff seeding ramifications on the line for the upcoming NEAC Men’s Soccer Championship tournament, as he scored a goal and assisted on another while leading a defense that held the Storm to just one score in the 3-1 victory. The win helped the defending champion Wildcats clinch a playoff spot in the tournament.
  • Men's Soccer Charges into Postseason with 3-1 Win over Keuka

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Soccer Team (8-7-1, 6-3-1 NEAC) laid to rest any fears about the postseason on Saturday with a convincing 3-1 win over Keuka. With the win the Wildcats solidified their hold on fourth place in the conference, as they have the tiebreaker over Penn St.-Harrisburg after defeating the Nittany Lions last month 2-0.

    MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNYIT Men's Soccer Team (3-2-0) won an incomparably exciting game Wednesday night, 2-1 over the visiting Clarkson Golden Knights. The Wildcats wallowed behind a one-goal deficit for the first 85 minutes of the game, and appeared all but resigned to a disappointing loss in front of a packed home crowd. With just 4:49 seconds remaining in the contest, first-year player Anthony Surber (Miller Place, N.Y. / Half Hollow Hills) brought the crowd to its feet with an incredible pass from just a few paces inside the mid-line. Surber placed the long pass perfectly on the head of a streaking Josh Kimber (Chittenango, N.Y. / Chittenango), who headed it home to tie the game 1-1.

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Wildcats (1-1-0) fell to crosstown rival Utica (2-0-0) by a score of 2-0 Saturday night in front of a packed crowd at Wildcat Stadium. The Wildcats battled to keep the match close, but were ultimately blanketed by a Pioneer defense that allowed just two SUNYIT shots on goal.
  • Wildcats Erupt in Second Half, Beat Sage 3-1

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Soccer Team (1-0-0) rebounded after a slow first-half start to win their home opener Friday night, 3-1 over the visiting Sage Gators (0-1-0). The win avenged SUNYIT’s season-opening loss of a year ago at Sage. The Wildcats came alive for three goals in the second half, and out shot the Sage men 11 to 4.
